Founded in 2005, Witness to Innocence is the only national organization that is composed of and led by ex-death row prisoners who have been found innocent by a legal authority and released from prison.  The mission of Witness to Innocence is to empower exonerated death row survivors to become powerful spokespersons in the movement to abolish the U.S. death penalty.  Witness to Innocence also provides a nationwide peer support network for exonerated death row survivors and their family members as they move forward in life after death row.
